My husband always uses this funny expression when he is describing something that is very “extreme”….blah, blah, blah “on steriods.” It always makes me laugh because it is always the perfect way to describe what he is describing at the time….So I named this entry in honor of my resident comedian! 🙂
So I played around with figure-ground reversal last time. I started thinking…What happens when you take a very complex object and make it the background or white-space? For this one, I took the complex shape of my Kanga candleholder/salt and pepper shaker contraption…
…Â and “went to town” (as my mom would say) creating a line drawing around it!
Here is the very cool result (can you see the shape??)…
I then played around with manipulating the whitespace to enhance the result…
And now, let’s reverse the effect in the original drawing…
…and let’s manipulate the “white-space” again and reflect the image multiple times to create a pattern…and VOILA!
