I am going to fast-forward just a little bit. I have plenty more free-hand drawings to share but wanted to share this one. It was completed just a short time ago and it was my first foray into the world of full-size drawings.
On this particular day, I just decided it was time to try something different…you know, shake things up a bit. So I purchased a 20″ X 30″ ilustration board. The interesting thing was that this project started off as a collaborative drawing. I was teaching my son, who is an art major, about my technique and asked if he would like to give it a try. The idea was that I would do one element and pass it on to him to add his input and so on. Well, needless to say, I started and never gave it up, so I guess I kind of reneged on the project….but he said he did not mind. He was too fascinated watching it develop!
I still haven’t settled on a name for this one. People have asked me how I knew when it was finished. I’m not sure I can really answer that question, but I definitely knew. The technician in Kinko’s, that scanned it for me, loved the piece and said he felt like he was going to be sucked into the center! Perhaps I should’ve asked him what I should name it! Hope you enjoy!
